High cholesterol in the body can be caused by a bad lifestyle coupled with consumption of unhealthy foods. Cholesterol is important for the body to produce vitamin D, as a protector of cells, maker of certain hormones, and to maintain brain function. However, if the cholesterol level is excessive in the body, automatically the function of the organs in the body is not optimal.

This high cholesterol is called Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL). This LDL will form a layer on the walls of blood vessels. With this layer, blood vessels become narrow, making it difficult for blood cells to flow throughout the body. Well, this obstructed blood flow causes dangerous diseases, one of which is stroke.

Stroke Occurs Due to Disruption of Blood Flow

Stroke is a disease that occurs when there is a blockage in the blood supply flowing to the brain. This disease can also occur due to ruptured blood vessels. Without blood, the brain will not get oxygen and nutrients, so cells in some areas of the brain will die.
