TYPES OF PREGNANCY ULTRASOUND
1. Transvaginal Ultrasonography
The first type of ultrasound pregnancy is transvaginal. The type of ultrasound can be performed to produce a clearer picture of the fetus. This type of ultrasound is usually used in the early stages of pregnancy. This ultrasound test is done by inserting a small ultrasound sensor into the vagina. This is to monitor the fetal heart rate and see abnormalities in the cervix that can result in premature birth or miscarriage.
2. 2D Ultrasonography
2D ultrasonography is a standard type of ultrasound pregnancy. This traditional ultrasound examination uses a transducer over the abdomen to produce 2D images of the developing fetus.
3. 3D Ultrasonography
3D ultrasound is used to see the width, height, and depth of the fetus and organs. Ultrasonography can be very helpful in diagnosing suspected problems during pregnancy.
4. 4D Ultrasonography
Unlike other ultrasonography, 4D ultrasonography produces fetal moving video. This creates a better image of the baby’s face and movements.
In addition, 4D ultrasound also captures fetal highlights and shadows better. Ultrasonography is done in a manner similar to other ultrasonography, but with special equipment.
